A message from Master Sherlanne Pierre, IAWJ Regional Director for the Caribbean and Latin America.
I am pleased to share herewith a short video, which highlights the experiences of some of the Women Judges of the Caribbean, who attended the recently held IAWJ Biennial Conference in Marrakesh, Morocco. This year, the Caribbean contingent comprised Judges of the Court of Appeal and High Court and Masters. In the video, the Caribbean Judicial Officers share how invaluable attendance was to them, in their unique role as women on the Bench. They also include useful and practical tips about how Sister Judicial Officers from the Caribbean can make attendance at IAWJ Biennial Conferences more affordable and feasible.
The next Conference takes place in 2025, in Cape Town, South Africa! Cape Town promises to deliver a learning and networking opportunity for women judges like nothing else offered on the globe. We want Caribbean Judges to make a strong showing- one hundred strong- of women judges from all levels of Caribbean Judiciaries. Do join us on this campaign, 100 Strong, Caribbean to Cape Town!
Please share the highlight video with your membership as well as women judges in the wider Judiciary. The video may be paused as needed. Be on the lookout for more on the campaign, our data collection drive and other initiatives. See you in Cape Town, South Africa! For any enquiries, please e-mail lacamerica@iawj.org .
Thank you kindly.
Sherlanne Pierre
Regional Director for the Caribbean and Latin America
